Assistant Fashion Designers

Job Details

The Assistant Fashion Designer will support the design team in developing garments and collections, from initial concepts through to finished pieces for BERYL QOUTURE, a luxury fashion house. This is a full-time position based in Kampala. Work Hours: 8 hours per day. Base Salary: Not Disclosed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with developing design concepts, sketches, and mood boards.
• Conduct research on fashion trends, fabrics, colours, and styles.
• Assist with fabric and material selection.
• Support pattern development, fittings, alterations, and garment production.
• Prepare samples and assist in developing new designs.
• Work closely with tailors, beaders, and other production staff.
• Help ensure finished pieces accurately reflect the designer's vision.
• Maintain organized design files, samples, and materials.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Strong creativity and interest in fashion.
• Basic knowledge of garment construction and design processes.
• Good drawing, styling, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment.
• Level of Education: Bachelor degree.
• Experience: 12 months.
