Biyinzika Poultry Uganda Limited is hiring an Assistant Inventory Officer reporting to the Finance Manager – Services, based at Kigunga – Mukono Office. The purpose is to assist the Inventory Accountant and Inventory Manager in ensuring all stock movements and related transactions are posted real time in the company system, managing operational areas under BPUL rules while achieving management targets. Employment is Full Time.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in real time posting of all abattoir inventory movements/transactions in the system
- Assist in daily reconciliations of all stock posted in the system versus manual transfer documents
- Assist the dispatch supervisor (sales) in reconciling self-pickup customers ensuring all are invoiced and sales point agrees
- Reconcile sales returns, get clear explanations, help resolve issues relating to wrong posting and reversals
- Assist the inventory officer in end-month processes i.e. stock taking at the abattoir, reconciling physical stock versus system figures to ascertain variances
- Monitor/reconcile crates used in all abattoir operations, give explanations for variances and update inventory manager on customers holding crates
- Ensure proper documentation for all abattoir transactions i.e. making sure all ISTs have invoices before filling
- Daily reconciliation of stock issued vs invoiced to ascertain individual customers drip loss
- Update inventory manager of quantity (stock volumes) issued from abattoir and all cold-rooms daily
- Assist in stock reconciliations at end of month and provide ideas for new controls in dispatch and cold room organisation
- Provide evidence of system generated documents for all abattoir transactions, daily/weekly/monthly issues log, crate management report, participation in monthly stock count sheets and customer transfer/invoice/drip losses report
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Business Administration (Accounting/Finance) or any other related fields
- At least 3 years of working experience in inventory management and stock control
- Minimum of 1-2 years in similar accounting position in a busy commercial organisation
- Basic skills in arithmetic
- Computer literacy especially accounting systems
- Interpersonal, excellent analytical skills, detail oriented and high accuracy
- Ability to work long hours, product and customer awareness
