Makerere University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Disease Control & Environmental Health, School of Public Health, College of Health Sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and community outreach while supporting the department's mandate in occupational health and safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Teach, examine and grade students
Supervise research for students
Mentor junior staff
Conduct research and community outreach activities
Write proposals for attracting funding to the department
Perform any other official duties as assigned by the Head of Department

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

Masters of Public Health (Specializing in Occupational Health and Safety) or Masters in Occupational Health and Safety
At least an upper second Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
CGPA of 4.0 and above required for Assistant Lecturer applicants
Applicants should not exceed 40 years of age at the time of application
Strong commitment to teaching, research, mentorship and community service
Ability to write fundable proposals and conduct community outreach
