Firm Medical Supplies Limited (FMSL) is seeking a passionate and driven Biomedical Engineering Trainee to join our Technical & Sales team in Kampala. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to kick-start a career in biomedical engineering with hands-on training and mentorship. The trainee will work under experienced Biomedical Engineers and gain exposure to the medical equipment supply value chain in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support installation, maintenance, and servicing of medical equipment under supervision of experienced Biomedical Engineers.
  • Assist the Technical & Sales team with technical evaluations, demonstrations and after-sales support.
  • Participate in structured on-the-job training and learn standard operating procedures for handling medical devices.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical faults and assist with problem-solving and attention-to-detail tasks.
  • Support documentation, reporting and customer communication related to equipment service.
  • Work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and adhere to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • A recent graduate or final-year student awaiting graduation in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or a related field.
  • Genuinely passionate about biomedical/medical equipment technology.
  • Eager to learn, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Computer literate (MS Office, basic technical software).
  • Minimum Experience: 12 months (as listed) advantage but recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree.
