Key Duties and Responsibilities
Chief Executive Officer
- Provide leadership and set the strategic direction for the hospital.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the hospital.
- Develop and manage the hospital's budget, monitor financial performance, and ensure financial sustainability.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, healthcare providers, and patients.
- Ensure high-quality healthcare services and patient safety; establish and monitor quality improvement initiatives, implement evidence-based practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee the hospital's human resources function, including attracting and retaining qualified staff, developing talent, and fostering a positive organizational culture.
- Represent the hospital in the community and maintain strong relationships with the public.
- Provide leadership in crisis management and coordinate the hospital's response during emergencies.
Medical Director Roles
- Support operations and administration of the Board by advising and informing Board members, and acting as a direct interface between the Board and staff.
- Ensure high standards of performance of the Curative, Preventive, and Reproductive Medicine Care Services to the patients.
- Serve as the chief professional advisor to the Board of Governors on all medical matters.
- Regularly review and ensure organizational performance in all key strategic areas, responding appropriately, and updating the board on a quarterly basis.
- Supervise and appraise members of the Hospital Management team.
- Prepare Annual Reports regarding medical activities for insertion in the Hospital Annual Analytical report.
- Ensure proper data collection, recording and analysis by the institution's Records department and check on its quality and consistency before submission.
- Monitor Medical Officers and Allied Professionals' call registers monthly and discipline them accordingly.
- Liaise with the District Health Office, Diocesan Health Board, Registrar Allied Professional Council, UCMC and Ministry of Health for all matters concerning health, medical care and medical-legal issues.
- Perform other duties assigned by internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in the Hospital, three of which has been in a managerial position.
- Organization skills, guidance and counseling skills, evaluation skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, financial management skills, human resource management skills, computer literacy skills, interpretation skills, supervisory skills, research and report writing skills.
