Abaana Ministries, a Christian NGO dedicated to empowering vulnerable children, invites applications from mature Christians for a Finance Administrator position. The role provides efficient financial and administrative support that ensures the organisation's resources are managed with integrity, accountability, and good stewardship, in line with Christian values, donor requirements, and statutory regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide finance and administrative support, including managing expense entries, budgets and income in QuickBooks
- Handle mobile money transactions and staff advances
- Act as the organisation's bank agent
- Support financial reporting, payroll-related activities, procurement and insurance matters
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, office IT requirements, premises and security, including supervision of security guards
- Support compliance and governance by submitting statutory returns
- Assist with Board activities and contribute to budgeting alongside the Finance and Administration Manager
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce (Accounting option), Business Administration (Accounting/Finance), or a related field from a recognised university
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications
- At least 2-3 years' relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably within an NGO, Christian ministry, or donor-funded environment
- Experience in preparing financial reports, maintaining accounting records, bank reconciliations, and budget monitoring
- Experience using QuickBooks accounting software
- At least two years' driving (automatic essential; manual an added advantage) with a clean driving permit (car)
- Must be a born-again Christian (operational requirement)
- Desirable: Level II of a recognised professional accounting qualification such as CPA, or an equivalent qualification
- Desirable: Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Desirable: Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial management
- Desirable: Understanding of Ugandan tax laws, including PAYE, NSSF, withholding tax, and other statutory obligations
- Desirable: Familiarity with donor compliance requirements and financial reporting standards
- Desirable: Good understanding of internal controls and financial risk management
