Job Details
Financial Adviser role promoting and selling life, health, home and motor insurance policies. The role involves advising clients on policy terms, benefits, exclusions and premium costs, evaluating client needs, managing applications and renewals, and supporting claims. The position earns 40% commission plus transport and airtime support from the manager. Work station is Kampala, Uganda, supporting ICEA LION Uganda products such as life assurance, Simba Motor Insurance, Nyumbani Home Insurance, medical cover and retirement plans.
Core Roles
Adviser: Explains complex policy terms, benefits, exclusions, and premium costs in simple words.
Sales Representative: Promotes and sells policies like life, health, home, or auto insurance
Kaplan Financial Education Facilitator: Helps clients complete paperwork, submit applications, and navigate claim processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate client needs by studying income, family size and financial goals to suggest the right coverage.
- Prospect and market through networking, referrals and outreach to find new clients.
- Manage applications by collecting required documents and ensuring forms are correct to prevent delays.
- Handle renewals by sending reminders and processing payments so active policies do not lapse.
- Assist with claims by guiding policyholders on what to do and what papers to file during an emergency or loss.
- Stay compliant by following applicable legal rules and licensing guidelines.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Diploma in Business Administration, in Sales and Marketing, in Actuarial Science, in Commerce, Teaching, Law and Nursing
- Ability to explain insurance products clearly and advise clients.
- Sales, prospecting, networking and customer service skills.
- Ability to collect and verify application documents and follow up on renewals and claims.
- Willingness to follow insurance legal and licensing guidelines.
