Our client is a leading player in Uganda's automotive and mobility sector, with a strong presence in the motorcycle market. The organization specializes in the distribution and retail of motorcycles, genuine spare parts, after-sales services, and local motorcycle assembly, supported by a growing branch and distribution network across Uganda.

The Fintech Consultant — Smartphone Finance (Interim build lead) will lead the end-to-end setup and operationalization of a smartphone-finance business, including team formation, systems implementation, credit policy, mobile-money integration, device-locking, collections, dealer management and reporting. The role is full-time based in Kampala, Uganda. Work hours: 8 hours per day. Salary: Not Disclosed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Advise on and form the team required to run the business, including hiring and training
• Own the full build-out of the onboarding and billing systems and mobile-money integration
• Communicate with the device-locking provider and decide the locking approach (prepaid vs post-paid locking)
• Define credit policies for the smartphone-finance book
• Set up the customer-support function for collections
• Build the ground team to manage smartphone dealers
• Specify the exact app build and reporting systems the business will need

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 3–5 years of direct experience working with a smartphone or device financier
• Experience building or managing onboarding, billing, device-locking and collections processes
• Hands-on experience in building teams, systems and processes from the ground up to implementation
• Minimum experience: 3 years
