Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC) is a limited liability company wholly owned by the Government of Uganda, established under Section 42 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Act and Section 7 of the Petroleum (Refining, Conversion, Transmission and Midstream Storage) Act, both of 2013, and incorporated under the Companies Act, 2012 on 12 June 2015. Its overall function is to handle the Government of Uganda's commercial interests in the petroleum sector and ensure that the resource is exploited in a sustainable manner. UNOC is mandated to manage State participation in petroleum activities and to investigate and propose new upstream, midstream and downstream ventures.

UNOC operates through two subsidiaries: Uganda Refinery Holding Company Ltd (URHC), which holds up to 40% participating interest in the refinery to be constructed in Kabaale, Hoima and manages the Kabaale Industrial Park, and National Pipeline Company (U) Ltd (NPC), which holds a 15% participating interest in the 1,443-kilometre East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) and manages storage terminals and pipelines. Key projects include Exploration & New Ventures, Kingfisher, Tilenga, EACOP and the Uganda Refinery. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate in designing and specifying electrical and instrumentation systems for oil and gas facilities.
• Support the development of Instrument Basis of Design and specifications for control and safety systems (DCS, SIS, FGS, MMS, PLC).
• Assist in preparing specifications for cables, junction boxes, terminations, and installation scopes.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of control systems (DCS, PLC).
• Review and prepare data sheets for control valves, safety valves, and field instruments.
• Participate in developing and reviewing 'Cause & Effect' and Logic diagrams.
• Assist in preparing material/technical requisitions and conducting technical bid evaluations.
• Review vendor documents for instrumentation and control systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
• Participate in field monitoring of production systems to ensure compliance with standards.
• Support troubleshooting and minor repairs of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Provide input on metering design proposals and ensure alignment with allocation principles.
• Assist in reviewing work programs and budgets related to production systems.
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor(s).

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or any relevant Engineering degree.
• Zero to three (0-3) years of working experience in designing control systems and familiarity with DCS and PLC systems.
• Candidate should have graduated not more than three (3) years from the date of publication of this job advertisement.
• Possession of relevant certification will be an added advantage.
• Membership in the relevant oil and gas industry professional bodies like SPE, AAPG, and SEG is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design principles, standards, and safety practices.
• Knowledge of control systems and equipment maintenance principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Willingness to learn and adapt new geophysical techniques and technologies.
• Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment practices in Oil and Gas.
