Job Details

Graduate Intern - Communications and Influencing based at Plan International Uganda Country Office in Kampala, reporting to the Communications Officer. The role supports implementation of Plan International Uganda's Influencing Strategy guided by the Global Strategy (All Girls Standing Strong), Global Advocacy Strategy (GLAS), Pan African Advocacy Strategy (PAAS) and Country Strategy 2023-2027, employing targeted policy advocacy, strategic communications, campaigns and partnership approaches. Full-time internship for 6 months, Grade Level 10.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support strategic internal and external communications in line with Global and Country Strategy ambitions.
  • Support targeted policy advocacy, strategic communications and campaign activities under the Influencing Strategy.
  • Assist the Communications Officer with content development, partnership communications and influencing initiatives.
  • Contribute to planning and execution of communication and influencing activities as detailed in the full job description.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • Recent graduate with interest in communications, advocacy, media or related field (specific qualification not stated in source).
  • Knowledge of strategic communications, campaigns and policy advocacy desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with children, young people, partners and supporters.
