The Head of BI & Analytics owns SafeBoda's end-to-end data function from infrastructure and governance through to analytics strategy and organisational capability. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring the business operates with real-time visibility, rigorous data quality and analytical capability to make confident decisions at every level across Uganda and Kenya markets. The role is based in Kampala/Nairobi, on-site, with a start date of August 2026. It spans technical architecture, team development, executive insight delivery and embedding a data-driven culture across ride-hailing and fintech verticals. The role manages delivery against OKR and SLA frameworks and translates complex findings into clear, decision-ready narratives for C-level audiences. Key Duties and Responsibilities

Establish and enforce the enterprise governance framework: data classification, access controls, pipeline versioning, documentation standards and quality monitoring
Own the multi-year BI and analytics roadmap aligned to business objectives across ride-hailing and fintech verticals and manage delivery against OKR and SLA frameworks
Develop analyses and KPI frameworks providing real-time business visibility and translate complex findings into clear, decision-ready narratives for C-level audiences
Embed data into decision-making workflows across Marketing, Operations, Finance and Product and ensure all departments operate with data-informed strategies
Architect and maintain the company's data platform including ETL pipelines, data warehouse and server environment
Lead and develop a team of data professionals and design and deliver internal data literacy programmes that build analytical capability across the wider organisation

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

Graduate degree, MBA or equivalent in a quantitative field such as engineering, mathematics or statistics
6+ years of professional experience with at least 3 years in a data leadership role, ideally within a high-growth technology or fintech environment
Hands-on proficiency with SQL, Python and at least one major BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, Metabase or equivalent)
Prior management and team-building experience
Proven business strategy and consulting experience - ability to navigate ambiguity, juggle multiple tasks, think independently and problem-solve in a structured manner
Data analytics expertise with a passion for quantitative analysis
Knowledge of software packages for data analysis is a plus; Excel modelling and data manipulation skills
Proven ability to work well across different teams and get things done
Leadership and team management: ability to lead and manage a diverse team of data professionals, fostering a collaborative environment
Strategic thinking: skilled in aligning BI and analytics strategies with overall business goals and objectives
Advanced data analysis and BI tools expertise
Data-driven decision making and strong business acumen with deep understanding of market trends and customer needs
Effective communication: ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels
Problem-solving skills for complex business challenges using data
Technical knowledge of data architecture, database systems and data governance principles
Innovation and continuous improvement in BI technologies and methodologies
Change management experience in guiding an organization to be more data-driven
