Job Details
Joint Medical Store (JMS) is a Church-founded private not-for-profit organization whose mission is to "Provide value adding health solutions to accredited health units and other stakeholders". JMS has been awarded the AFGHS-JMS project by the United States Department of State, whose goal is to support continuity of lifesaving essential medicines, medical equipment and outbreak response within private-not-for-profit health facilities while accelerating the shift to an accountable, interoperable and government-aligned supply chain, including JMS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool stabilization and Global Standards-1 (GS1) readiness.
The four objectives under AFGHS-JMS are:
- Procure, assure quality, warehouse commodities and equipment efficiently
- Stabilize ERP; strengthen data use, and deliver priority interoperability, GS1 traceability and cyber resilience
- Build an outbreak-ready supply chain with clear triggers, buffer stock, surge distribution and simulation
- Strengthen PNFP workforce, governance, financing and country-led supply chain ownership
This is a full-time position based in Kampala, Uganda. The Health Financing Officer will be responsible for financial sustainability planning and resource mobilization for the supply chain system under the AFGHS-JMS project. Work Hours: 8 hours. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage financial sustainability planning and resource mobilization efforts for the supply chain system
- Support financing strategies that strengthen PNFP workforce, governance, financing and country-led supply chain ownership in line with AFGHS-JMS objectives
- Contribute to accountable and government-aligned supply chain financing, including ERP stabilization and GS1 readiness initiatives
- Support procurement, warehousing and distribution financing for commodities and equipment efficiency (as part of project team)
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Economics, Finance, or Economics (required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in health financing
- Experience in financial sustainability planning and resource mobilization for health supply chain systems
- Knowledge of health systems financing, PNFP health sector and donor-funded project environments (advantageous)
- Strong analytical, planning and data use skills to support ERP and interoperability objectives
