Job Details

On behalf of our client, an Automobile company, RCS Consult seeks to recruit a Human Resource Manager to lead the human resource function and support achievement of the company's strategic objectives. The role is responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies, policies, and programs including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and compliance with labor laws and company policies. This is a full-time position based in Kampala, Kampala. Work hours: 8 hours per day. Salary not disclosed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives and advise management on HR best practices, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Lead the development and review of HR policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention processes and develop talent management and succession planning programs.
  • Foster positive employee relations and workplace culture and handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
  • Promote employee engagement and well-being initiatives.
  • Coordinate performance appraisal systems and employee development plans and support managers in setting performance targets and evaluating performance.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate employee learning and development and leadership and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Manage payroll administration in collaboration with Finance and review compensation structures and benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and company policies and maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems.
  • Prepare HR reports and workforce analytics and promote workplace health, safety, and employee welfare programs.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
  • A Master's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
  • Professional HR certification such as CHRP, SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
