Job Details
Makerere University is seeking a Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine on a Permanent appointment (Remuneration Scale PU6.1) reporting to the Head of Department. The position is based at Makerere University Main Campus, Makerere Hill Road, Kampala, Uganda. The role combines teaching, clinical care, research and community outreach in Internal Medicine, including supervising student research, mentoring junior staff and mobilizing departmental funding through proposal writing. Applicants should not exceed fifty-five (55) years of age at the time of application. Tenure: Permanent. Remuneration: PU6.1.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach, examine and grade students
- Supervise research for students
- Mentor junior staff
- Conduct research and community outreach activities
- Write proposals for attracting funding to the department
- Perform any other official duties as assigned by the Head of Department
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- PhD, Area of specialization (Internal Medicine)
- MMed (Internal Medicine)
- MBChB
- Experience in clinical care and teaching in Internal Medicine
