The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing and overseeing maintenance plans for a variety of facilities, equipment, and machinery. The Planner works with multiple departments and personnel to ensure maintenance plans are aligned with strategic objectives and that necessary resources are available.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule, track, and coordinate maintenance activities across the organization.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor maintenance schedules and plans.
  • Monitor parts and supplies.
  • Resolve maintenance-related issues and provide technical guidance and support.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance processes.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Arrange for installations to be commissioned after repairs or modifications in consultation with production management.
  • Ensure proper functioning and safety of installations per legal and company-specific requirements.
  • Oversee departmental administrative processes including work orders, time records, materials, and project data.
  • Formulate work progress reports based on plant maintenance software.
  • Manage tools, safety, and protection equipment; order new tools and resources.
  • Advise on optimal spare parts supplies.
  • Keep up with developments within the professional discipline.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge in boilers, welding, pipefitting, inside/outside machinist.
  • Solid understanding of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of facilities, machines, and equipment.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance management role.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • At least 3-4 years hands-on experience in a similar role in the Food Industry (beverage manufacturing plant is a distinct advantage).
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion.
