Job Details
CoRSU Hospital, Uganda's leading health facility for orthopedic, plastic and reconstructive surgery and comprehensive rehabilitation services, is seeking a Maintenance Technician. This is a full-time position reporting to the Estates Officer in the Human Resource & Administration Department, based at CoRSU Hospital, Kawuku, Entebbe Road, Kisubi. The overall objective is to offer maintenance and general technical support in Welding, and associated areas of Plumbing, Carpentry and Joinery works for infrastructural and equipment maintenance within the hospital.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Preserve the structural integrity and functionality of hospital buildings and installations by performing regular inspections, repairs and preventative measures, ensuring patient and staff safety.
- Maintain the functionality and safety of all hospital furniture and equipment through regular inspection and repairs.
- Regularly update maintenance records for all hospital infrastructure, furniture and equipment.
- Provide timely and effective reporting on the status of all hospital infrastructure, furniture and equipment.
- Perform welding and metal fabrication, carpentry and joinery, bricklaying and concrete, and basic plumbing works as required.
- Repair, service and maintain metallic facilities and equipment.
- Protect company property, tools, equipment and assets entrusted to custody from loss, theft or damage.
- Adhere to all CoRSU Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Minimum of Craft Part 2 (Advanced Craft Certificate) in Bricklaying and Concrete Practice or Carpentry and Joinery works.
- Diploma in Civil or Water Engineering.
- Knowledge and experience in welding and metal fabrication.
- Experience in carpentry and joinery work.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing works.
- Knowledge and skills in repair, servicing and maintenance of metallic facilities and equipment.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Engineering drawing software (CAD).
- At least 5 years' experience working in a related field.
- Should be 25 years and above.
