Whisper Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Director to provide overall medical leadership and clinical governance for its hospitals in Jinja and Kampala, Uganda. The role is full-time and reports to senior hospital leadership, with responsibility for hospital operations, quality assurance, patient safety and supervision of doctors and clinical teams. The successful candidate will ensure delivery of high-quality, ethical and patient-centred healthcare in line with Whisper's mission of "A Magical Rebirth for Everyone" and its 24/7 patient-first approach. Duty station is Jinja Headquarters (32 Madhvani Road, Jinja) with oversight of the Kyanja, Kampala branch (Kisaasi-Kyanja Road, Kyanja). Toll-free: 0800 333 400.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Provide strategic medical leadership and clinical oversight for all hospital operations
Ensure effective clinical governance, quality assurance, patient safety and adherence to clinical standards
Lead, supervise and evaluate doctors and clinical teams
Conduct clinical audits, patient-file reviews and implement medical protocols and standard operating procedures
Oversee hospital operations and medical supervision across Jinja and Kampala branches
Promote high-quality, ethical and patient-centred healthcare and foster a culture of integrity, accountability and continuous improvement
Collaborate with hospital management to drive service excellence, compliance and professional development

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

MBChB or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
Fully registered and licensed to practice in Uganda
Minimum 5 years' clinical experience, with proven leadership/supervisory experience
Strong experience in hospital operations, clinical governance & medical supervision
Proven ability in quality assurance, patient safety & clinical standards
Ability to lead, supervise and evaluate doctors and clinical teams
Strong skills in clinical audits, patient-file reviews & implementation of medical protocols
Excellent leadership, integrity, accountability & communication skills
Strong commitment to high-quality, ethical and patient-centred healthcare
