Utatu Medicals And Maternity Centre is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join their healthcare team in Adjumani Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in Internal Medicine and Paediatrics and be committed to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered medical care.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations, assessments, diagnosis, and treatment
• Provide comprehensive medical care to patients across different age groups
• Manage common medical conditions with particular attention to internal medicine and paediatric cases
• Take accurate medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations
• Request and interpret relevant laboratory and diagnostic investigations
• Develop appropriate treatment and management plans for patients
• Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment as necessary
• Identify and appropriately manage or refer emergency and complex cases
• Provide health education and counselling to patients and their families
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient records
• Work closely with nurses, specialists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and other healthcare activities
• Adhere to professional, ethical, infection prevention, and patient-safety standards

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB/MBBS) or equivalent from a recognized institution
• Valid registration and practicing license with the relevant professional council in Uganda
• Fresh graduates with a strong interest or bias in Internal Medicine and Paediatrics are encouraged to apply
• Good clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, professional, and patient-centered approach
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Willingness to work in Adjumani Town
