Advocate for Community Development and Environmental Protection (ACODEP) is recruiting for an upcoming multi-sectoral initiative focused on women's participation in environmental peacebuilding, climate action, GBV/SGBV prevention, human rights protection, and environmental justice.

The Medical/Public Health Officer will support community health interventions, health promotion, disease prevention, referrals, and public-health awareness activities. This is a 1-Year Renewable Contract position based in Kampala. Duty Station: Kampala. Employment Type: Contract (Full-time, 8 hours). Number of Positions: 2. ACODEP is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support community health assessments and outreach activities.
  • Conduct health education and awareness sessions.
  • Promote disease prevention, hygiene, sanitation, and healthy lifestyles.
  • Support community-based health programmes.
  • Identify health risks and facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Work with health facilities, local authorities, and community health structures.
  • Support health screening and outreach activities where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of health activities.
  • Support emergency preparedness and health-response activities.
  • Promote inclusive access to health services for women, children, youth, and vulnerable groups.
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluation of health interventions.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Clinical Medicine, or a related field, as applicable to the position.
  • Relevant professional registration/licensing where required.
  • Experience in community or public-health programming is an advantage.
  • Strong health education, communication, and community-mobilisation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in field settings.
