Lecho Institute of Health Science and Technology is seeking a qualified and experienced Midwifery Tutor to join its academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical instruction, supporting students' professional development, and preparing them for clinical practice.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver midwifery lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and examinations.
  • Provide practical demonstrations and guide students during clinical learning.
  • Assess students' academic and practical performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Supervise students during clinical placements and ensure adherence to professional standards.
  • Mentor and support students in developing appropriate clinical and professional competencies.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance, assessment, and academic records.
  • Participate in curriculum reviews, academic meetings, and institutional activities.
  • Promote ethical, safe, and evidence-based midwifery practice.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Education with a Midwifery background, or
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education with a Midwifery background.
  • Relevant professional registration and a valid practicing license where applicable.
  • Strong knowledge of midwifery practice and medical education.
  • Excellent teaching, communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous teaching or clinical experience is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 12 months of experience.
