JR Medical Centre Nsasa is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Nurse/Midwife to provide high-quality nursing and maternity care. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, providing safe clinical care, and promoting positive health outcomes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing and midwifery care to patients.
  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs and clinical conditions.
  • Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
  • Assist with safe deliveries and provide emergency obstetric support when required.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Educate patients and families on health, hygiene, maternal care, and newborn care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Support infection prevention and control procedures within the facility.
  • Work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and follow established clinical protocols.
  • Maintain professional standards, patient confidentiality, and ethical conduct.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Nursing and/or Midwifery from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and practicing licence with the relevant professional council.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or maternity setting is an added advantage.
  • Good clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, reliable, and patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Minimum 12 months of experience.
