Job Details

ADS Pharmacy is expanding its team! We're looking for Pharmacy Technicians (alongside Clinical Officers and Nursing Officers) to join us in delivering quality and accessible healthcare. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampala, Uganda. The role reports within the pharmacy operations team and involves providing high-quality pharmaceutical care, medication management, regulatory compliance, and patient education including clinicPesa enrollment. Work Hours: 8 hours. Industry: Healthcare. Base Salary: Not Disclosed. The successful candidate will be part of a customer-focused team ensuring adequate medicine stock, coordinated patient care and continuous professional development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality pharmaceutical care services to patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Monitor medication inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and coordinate medication orders and deliveries as necessary to ensure adequate stock.
  • Train and teach patients on how to prepare early towards their healthcare by creating clinicPesa accounts and saving towards healthcare.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards governing pharmacy practice, including but not limited to NDA, FDA regulations, and any other Ugandan pharmacy laws.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and other members of the healthcare team to facilitate coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain competency and proficiency in pharmacy practice through ongoing education and professional development and searching for remote career opportunities to stay current.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • Must have a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Education or Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Education.
  • Must be registered and in possession of a valid practicing License from the relevant Pharmaceutical body (Pharmacy Council / Allied Health Professionals Council).
  • Should have trained or worked in a pharmaceutical space for at least one year.
  • Degree holders require 1 year of experience; Diploma holders require 5 years of experience per alternative listing (minimum 12 months experience required).
  • Level of Education: Bachelor's degree minimum; Diploma considered with extended experience.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and patient counselling skills.
  • Commitment to compliance, quality assurance and ethical pharmacy practice.
