The Smart Room Maintenance Engineer provides specialist technical and engineering support for the maintenance of plant and equipment, ensuring the highest safety standards. The role involves HSEQ management system implementation, preventive maintenance oversight, and technical guidance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• HSEQ & Safety Compliance:

• Support and implement the HSEQ management system (plans, procedures, and specifications).

• Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding HSE rules, requirements, and Company Ethics/Code of Conduct.

• Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and make proactive suggestions.

• Ensure HSE standards of contractors align with company rules and referential standards.

• Promote and control rigorous application of company Golden Rules across all activities.

• Technical Support & Operations Management:

• Provide specialist technical and engineering advice/guidance to site personnel on plant and equipment operations.

• Manage day-to-day maintenance activities within the Smart Room with adequate liaison to support current and forthcoming site activities.

• Provide direct technical support to site maintenance personnel.

• Provide work direction, check project progress, identify resources, set priorities, and establish time schedules.

• Review and prepare planned maintenance look-aheads, balancing resources with monthly PM activity.

• Set up monthly Preventive Maintenance Review processes.

• Serve as the main interface for the site Head of Maintenance to assist with critical activities.

• Breakdown & Asset Reliability:

• Provide initial breakdown support and guidance during fault finding, repair methodology, vendor sourcing, and materials availability.

• Review the status of offline plant/equipment to ensure availability and verify standby equipment is serviceable.

• Track, report, and prevent maintenance-related production losses.

• Analyze backlogs of maintenance activities.

• Follow up and report on all safety-critical elements performance and release weekly safety outlook reports.

• Digital Tools & Asset Health Monitoring:

• Monitor, review, and analyze plant and equipment performance using digital tools, providing feedback to Line Management.

• Provide insights into condition asset health monitoring by collecting performance data and contextualizing asset failure data.

• Optimize failure thresholds of running equipment using connected and collected data records.

• Act as a key actor in the 2-week look-ahead planning (2WLAP) managed by the Smart Room.

• Stakeholder & Vendor Management:

• Provide performance feedback on contractors.

• Liaise with tier 2 and discipline managers for technical and contractual support.

• Develop positive and constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers to improve performance, reduce costs, and increase quality.

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with site personnel through effective communication and regular site visits.

• Participate in regular plant/equipment condition meetings: daily morning calls, weekly follow-ups, and monthly performance group meetings.

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

• Education: BSc degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 8–10 years of experience in oil & gas process/operations with deep knowledge of onshore process and production systems and site activities.
• Collaboration: Experience working in a collaborative or remote digital environment is an advantage.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to propose innovative, workable solutions.
• Communication: Exceptional communication and interface management skills to operate efficiently in transverse/cross-functional team environments.
• Mindset & Tools: Strong reliability-centered attitude toward maintenance follow-up and proficiency in MS Office tools.
