Quality Assurance Manager

On behalf of our client, a Cocoa Producing Company, RCS Consult seeks to recruit a Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality management systems and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards across operations. The role covers QA across all operations, complaints and continuous improvement, monitoring and compliance, and leadership. This is a full-time position based in Kampala, Kampala with extensive travel within Uganda. Work hours: 8 hours per day. Salary not disclosed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain QMS, standards and specifications and supervise the Quality Assurance team.
• Conduct regular branch audits and ensure equipment calibration and testing.
• Liaise with production, purchasing, logistics and customers.
• Operate company-wide quality issue system: receive, investigate and resolve all quality complaints.
• Maintain a central register of complaints and non-conformances, assign owners and track every issue until closed.
• Complete root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Update SOPs, work instructions and training following lessons learned.
• Report trends and KPIs to management.
• Perform scheduled and surprise inspections and monitor supplier, branch and warehouse compliance.
• Recommend improvements and deliver training and ensure export/customer specifications are achieved.
• Manage QA staff, communicate effectively with branches and customers, and build accountability and continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Degree in Food Science, Quality Management or related field.
• 5+ years' quality assurance experience in agriculture, food processing or exports.
• Strong root cause analysis and CAPA experience.
• Experience managing SOPs, audits and quality systems.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Uganda.
