Job Details
The Radiographer will perform diagnostic imaging procedures to support clinical decision-making and patient care at Ebenezer Clinic and Diagnostic Centre. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing patients for imaging, operating radiologic equipment, following imaging protocols, and ensuring accurate image capture and documentation. The role involves maintaining radiation safety standards, monitoring equipment performance, and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The Radiographer will also contribute to patient education, explain procedures clearly, and uphold infection prevention and quality assurance guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ibanda, Uganda. Work Hours: 8. Base Salary: Not Disclosed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging procedures and explain procedures clearly.
- Operate radiologic equipment and follow established imaging protocols.
- Ensure accurate image capture, documentation, and record-keeping.
- Maintain radiation safety standards and apply radiation protection principles in daily practice.
- Monitor equipment performance and report faults.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to patient education and uphold infection prevention and quality assurance guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of Radiology and Radiologic Technology, including common diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Strong understanding of Radiation and Radiation Safety principles, with ability to apply them in daily practice.
- Foundational knowledge of Medicine relevant to imaging, including anatomy, physiology, and basic pathology.
- Recognized qualification or diploma/degree in Radiography or Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.
- Current professional registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate regulatory body, where applicable.
- Proficiency in operating radiographic equipment and using digital imaging systems (e.g., PACS, RIS) is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients and colleagues and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to work full-time on-site in Ibanda and to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Minimum experience: 12 months.
- Level of Education: professional certificate.
