Makerere University is pleased to announce a vacancy for Senior Psychosocial Support Services Officer to serve full-time with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University, Main Campus, Kampala. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program provides scholarships and comprehensive academic, psychosocial, leadership, and transition support to young African women and men admitted to undergraduate and master's programmes at Makerere. The purpose of the role is to ensure the delivery of high-quality, inclusive psychosocial and mental health services to Mastercard Foundation Scholars and Alumni. Full-time, 8 work hours.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, inclusive psychosocial and mental health services to Mastercard Foundation Scholars and Alumni
- Provide psychosocial support, counselling and referrals as needed
- Support scholars' wellbeing, inclusion and retention within the Scholars Program
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Postgraduate Degree (Masters level) in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health or related field from a recognised institution
- Minimum experience of 12 months (1 year)
- Experience in psychosocial support, counselling or student welfare services is an advantage
- Strong interpersonal, counselling and stakeholder engagement skills
