As a Senior Talent Management Specialist, you will play a key role in providing hands-on support for people operations and employee relations, ensuring consistent application of policies, processes, and employment practices. You will work closely with the Global Talent Team and Finance Team to ensure fair and objective case management, provide operational HR support, and ensure compliance, while partnering with the Head of Talent for escalations. This is a full-time position based in Kampala, Uganda, offering market competitive salary, quarterly variable compensation, comprehensive medical cover, group life insurance, office snacks and lunch, periodic team building and social events, and growth opportunities. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary cases, investigations, performance improvement plans, and behavioral/conduct issues; ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant handling.
- Provide guidance to managers on employee relations processes, performance management procedures, policy interpretation, and handling employee concerns.
- Support operational aspects of the employee lifecycle including onboarding coordination, performance management processes, offboarding procedures, and benefits administration support.
- Maintain proper documentation for HR cases and ensure compliance with labor regulations and internal policies; support audits and reporting requirements.
- Support delivery of employee recognition programs, engagement initiatives, local culture and team events, and global or regional talent initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field required.
- CHRP(K) certification.
- 5–8+ years in HR, with at least 3 years focused on Employee Relations or HR Operations.
- Proven experience handling disciplinary cases, investigations, PIPs, and workplace grievances with fairness and consistency.
- Strong working knowledge of Uganda Labour Law: Employment Act, 2007 and ability to apply it in real workplace scenarios.
- Ability to advise and coach managers on employee relations matters, performance management, and policy interpretation.
- Skilled in gathering evidence, conducting interviews, and preparing clear, well-structured reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to handle sensitive and high-stakes conversations professionally.
- High level of accuracy in documentation, record-keeping, and compliance tracking.
- Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality.
- Proficient with G-Suite and HRIS platforms; demonstrated success in process automation and navigating emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with LLMs, conversational AI, prompt engineering, and agentic AI concepts.
- Forward-thinking, curious, and confident in a fast-paced environment.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in global or matrix organization, familiarity with HR systems, exposure to performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
