Job Details

The Smart Room Maintenance Engineer provides specialist technical and engineering support for the maintenance of plant and equipment, ensuring highest safety standards. The role involves HSEQ management system implementation, preventive maintenance oversight, and technical guidance. The deadline for applications is 11th August 2026.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and implement the HSEQ management system (plans, procedures, and specifications).
  • Adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding HSE rules and requirements, as well as Company Ethics and Code of Conduct policy.
  • Participate in Job Safety Analysis and make suggestions.
  • Ensure HSE standards of contractors are in line with company rules and referential.
  • Promote and control rigorous application of company Golden Rules in all activities.
  • Provide specialist technical/engineering advice and guidance to site personnel on operation and maintenance of plant/equipment ensuring highest safety standards.
  • Manage day-to-day maintenance activities within the Smart Room, ensuring adequate liaison to support current and forthcoming site activities.
  • Provide site maintenance personnel with direct technical support.
  • Provide work direction and technical guidance, check project progress, identify resources, set priorities and time schedules.
  • Ensure planned maintenance look-ahead is reviewed and prepared, balance available resources with forthcoming monthly PM activity.
  • Set monthly Preventive Maintenance Review process.
  • Serve as main interface for site Head of Maintenance to assist with critical activities.
  • Provide initial breakdown support and guidance during fault finding, repair methodology, vendor requirements, and materials availability.
  • Review status of offline plant and equipment and ensure its availability and that standby equipment is serviceable.
  • Track, report, and prevent maintenance-related production losses.
  • Analyze backlog of maintenance activities.
  • Provide feedback on contractor performance.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Liaise with tier 2 and discipline managers for technical and contractual support.
  • Monitor, review, and analyse plant and equipment performance using digital tools and provide feedback to Line Management.
  • Provide insights into condition asset health monitoring by collecting vital performance data and contextualizing asset failure data.
  • Optimize failure thresholds of running equipment from connected and collected data records.
  • Act as key actor in the 2 weeks look ahead planning (2WLAP) followed by the Smart Room.
  • Follow-up and report on all safety-critical elements performance and release weekly safety outlook report.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with site personnel through effective communication and regular visits.
  • Develop positive and constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers, identifying opportunities to improve performance, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Participate in regular meetings regarding plant equipment condition: daily morning calls, weekly follow-up meetings, monthly performance group meetings.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • BSc degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • 8-10 years' experience in oil & gas process/operations, with good knowledge of operational site activities.
  • Good knowledge of onshore process and production systems.
  • Experience in a collaborative working environment will be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to propose innovative and workable solutions.
  • Strong communication and interface management skills to work efficiently in transverse mode.
  • Strong reliability-centered attitude to maintenance follow-up.
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools.
