Sonographer (Diploma)

Hope Medical and Diagnostic Centre is seeking a Sonographer (Diploma) to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and produce accurate imaging results to support clinicians in the diagnosis and management of patients. Duty Station: Magamaga, Mayuge District. Employment Type: Full Time. Work Hours: 8 hours.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations according to clinical requests.
• Prepare patients and explain procedures clearly before examinations.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment appropriately.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images using appropriate techniques.
• Identify and document relevant findings within the scope of practice.
• Prepare and maintain accurate examination records and reports.
• Ensure patient privacy, comfort, and confidentiality throughout procedures.
• Follow radiation-free imaging, infection prevention, and equipment-safety protocols.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report faults promptly.
• Work closely with clinicians and other diagnostic staff.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Diploma in Medical Sonography/Ultrasound or a related recognized qualification.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Registration with the relevant professional council and a valid practising licence where applicable.
• Good technical knowledge of ultrasound procedures and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent patient-care and communication skills.
