Stores Manager

Job Details

The Stores Manager oversees the efficient management of inventory and supplies within Holy Innocents Children's Hospital in Mbarara City, Uganda. This is a full-time position based in Mbarara City. Working hours are 8 hours per day. Salary is not disclosed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of all supplies, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor stock levels, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure timely reordering to prevent shortages.
• Receive and inspect incoming goods to verify quantities and quality against purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, and stock movements.
• Ensure proper storage conditions, labeling, and organization of all stores items.
• Implement FIFO (First-In-First-Out) principles to minimize wastage and spoilage.
• Prepare regular inventory reports and updates for management.
• Liaise with procurement and suppliers on deliveries, shortages, and quality issues.
• Ensure the security of stores and control access to inventory.
• Supervise stores attendants and support staff.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management, Business Administration, Logistics or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in stores/inventory management.
• Knowledge of stock control, FIFO, and storage management.
• Strong record-keeping, reporting and organizational skills.
• Experience in supplier coordination and staff supervision.
