Job Details

TotalEnergies Uganda is recruiting a Technical Assistant based on Site (Tilenga Project Area, Buliisa region) for one vacancy. The role supervises and oversees Camp upgrade, Fuel storage Facilities Upgrade and other technical works in the area of responsibility, including scope of work definitions, Bills of Quantities, technical documentation, evaluations, planning and site supervision to ensure quality, HSE, budget and schedule compliance. The holder interacts with technical entities, participates in project meetings and coordinates inspections and tests. Employment is Full Time. Deadline is 26 August 2026.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee Camp upgrade, Fuel storage Facilities Upgrade and other technical works in the area of responsibility.
  • Undertake activities pertaining to scope of work definitions including development of Bills of Quantities and other supporting technical documentation.
  • Carry out technical analysis and support different evaluations and interact with other technical entities for planning and progress follow-up.
  • Undertake supervision roles on site activities to ensure quality objectives are met, adherence to health and safety requirements, and works are kept within agreed budget lines and time frames.
  • Participate in Technical and Project meetings including Technical and progress review meetings, HSE Meetings, Service Quality Management (SQM) Audits with Contractors and toolbox talks while at site.
  • Review and answer Design and Construction Contractor queries keeping Civil Engineer in the loop.
  • Prepare and review contractors maintenance plans and have them validated with Surface Logistics Superintendent and Civil Engineer.
  • Attend site works realization and review contractor deliverables from progress/realization and civil engineering standpoint.
  • Carry out necessary coordination with relevant stakeholders/specialists following up inspections and tests carried out by Contractor.
  • Participate in implementation of key performance indicators tools, maintain and update Department Action Plan and planning.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to HSE performance per TotalEnergies Group objectives and vision.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
  • More than 6 years’ experience in Civil Engineering of Building and Civil/Structural Engineering Projects.
  • Good knowledge and exposure of current local legislation pertaining to Environmental Protection, Health and Safety at Work, Waste Management.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Confident user of MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, Primavera, AutoCAD and OS Windows.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, remain self-confident and solid under pressure, demonstrate logical thought patterns, high degree of organizational ability and be an effective communicator at all levels.
  • Behavioural and managerial competencies including self-drive, organization and commitment to HSE performance.
