Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) is a Public University established under Statutory Instrument No. 2 of 2022, located at Lake Saaka Campus, Kasindikwa Village, Fort Portal, Uganda (P.O. Box 837). Originally founded as a private non-profit Community University in 2005, licensed by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and granted a Charter in 2018, MMU became a Public University on 1st July 2022. Its Vision is to be a Centre of Excellence in Teaching, Research and Community Engagement for Sustainable Development, with core niche areas in Agriculture, Tourism and Environmental Conservation and Faculties including the Faculty of Health Sciences.
