MU-JHU Research Collaboration (MU-JHU Care Limited) is an indigenous medical research and care organization established in 1988 as a collaboration between Makerere University and Johns Hopkins University, based on Upper Mulago Hill Road in Kampala, Uganda. Registered as a not-for-profit entity in 2006 as MU-JHU Care Limited, its mission is to undertake health research, provide health services and conduct training focusing on HIV, prevalent and emerging conditions affecting women, children, youth and families. MU-JHU is a key contributor to new knowledge in HIV prevention, care and treatment, community HIV programs, non-HIV research and training, with research domains including Perinatal HIV/TB Prevention and Care, Pediatric and Infant Health, Bacterial Infections and Vaccine Development, and broader clinical trials (Phase I-IV).
