Job Details

St. Ambrose Charity Hospital – Kagadi, a private not-for-profit hospital committed to providing affordable, quality healthcare to the underserved community, is expanding its team. The Gynecologist will provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services including antenatal care, emergency obstetric care, gynecological surgeries and reproductive health management. This is a full-time position based at the hospital in Nakulabye Trading Centre, along Hoima-Fort Portal Road, Kagadi Town, Kagadi District. The hospital operates a 70-bed facility with St. Margaret Maternity Ward, St. Michael Theatre and outpatient services, serving referred and rural patients. Salary is not disclosed. Reporting to the Hospital Administration/Medical leadership. Work Hours: 8 hours.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide antenatal care and manage normal and high-risk pregnancies.
• Deliver emergency obstetric care including management of obstetric emergencies and caesarean sections in the theatre.
• Perform gynecological surgeries and procedures.
• Provide reproductive health management, family planning and counselling services.
• Manage inpatients and outpatients in maternity and gynecology units and participate in ward rounds.
• Provide health education and mentorship and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from a recognized institution.
• Master’s Degree in Obstetrics & Gynecology from a recognized institution.
• Must be registered and licensed with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC).
• At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
• Experience in antenatal care, emergency obstetric care, gynecological surgeries, and reproductive health management.
• Strong clinical, surgical and interpersonal skills; compassionate and dedicated to serving underserved communities.
